Cultivating Future Alumni:

Student Alumni Associates (SAA) Programme

This programme seeks to connect students with the alumni, building a strong support and mentorship network, and cultivating a strong alumni spirit.
What SAA Programme Entails:
A platform for students to plug into the alumni network and learn from successful seniors and professionals
SAA volunteers will form student committees amongst themselves to identify and organise events or projects to connect with the alumni network
Provides a support and mentorship network between students and alumni
A pillar to nurture new traditions and perpetuates existing traditions among students and alumni
Benefits for Student Alumni Associates (SAAs):
Special invitations to career or networking events with alumni
Career advice and mentorship from the alumni network
Opportunities to work closely with alumni in organising events or projects
Develop interpersonal, organisational and leadership skills
Testimonials and certificates for leadership roles
Sponsorship by OAR to attend enhancement courses, e.g. etiquette courses, interview skills workshops
Privileges in the use of alumni house facilities

NUS Alumni Student Exchange Programme (SEP) Award

The Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) offers annual awards of SGD 2,500 each to help finance the study stint of NUS students who are participating in the NUS Student Exchange Programme (SEP). 18 awards are made available to our students annually.

These awards are made possible by on-going collaborations with partner banks in our Affinity Cards Scheme, in which a portion of credit card spending on NUS Alumni Credit Cards are given towards supporting student and alumni programmes like this.

The alumni office believes in the value of an all-round education, and the importance of an overseas experience.

 
Conditions of Award

Successful applicants will be required to

Fulfill a one-week attachment to OAR, so as to familiarise them with the spectrum of alumni work during their undergraduate days. At the same time, this arrangement will serve as a good platform for OAR and the candidates to keep in touch regularly in NUS.
In addition, successful students will be required to submit a short report (approx. 2 pages) of their experience overseas within 2 weeks of your return, coupled with photos. These will be published in our AlumNUS magazine, which is distributed to all alumni.
 
Application

All Faculties (other than Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy)

Students applying for an exchange programme for either of the semesters are required to submit their completed application form, as well as  your NUS CCA records to the NUS International Relations Office (IRO).

 

Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy

Applicant students from Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy will be required to apply directly to your own faculty office.

 
Selection

All Faculties (other than Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy)

The selections will be conducted by the NUS IRO.
 

Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy

The selection process will be conducted by your respective faculty offices for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy students.

*this date applies to students applying for an exchange both in Semester I and II of each academic year

NUS Alumni Overseas Colleges Award

Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) provides financial awards valued at SGD 1,000 to support our students on their NOC programmes overseas.

These awards are made possible by on-going collaborations with partner banks in our Affinity Cards Scheme, in which a portion of credit card spending on NUS Alumni Credit Cards are given towards supporting student and alumni programmes like this.

OAR encourages students to spend time in overseas colleges through the programme, in line with NUS’ aspiration to be a global knowledge enterprise.

Conditions of the Award

NUS Alumni Bursary Awards

The office of Alumni Relations (OAR) provides financial assistance to needy students each year. The award is valued at SGD 1,500 and can be used to help pay part of the tuition fees. 20 Bursary Awards are made available for our students annually.

These awards are made possible by on-going collaborations with partner banks in our Affinity Cards Scheme, in which a portion of credit card spending on NUS Alumni Credit Cards are given towards supporting student and alumni programmes like this.

By doing this, we aim to play a part in adding value to student’s lives by easing their financial burden.
 
Conditions of Award
For needy students who have applied for Tuition Fee Loan, and who have applied for 80-100% of tuition fees payable under TFL and/or CPF Education Scheme and/or Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy and agrees to take up the NUS Study Loan will be considered for a bursary.
No limit set for gross income.
May not hold any other awards without approval.
Tenable on a yearly basis.
