For 2009 Graduating Students

1. How do I sign up for an alumni email upon graduation?
As we are currently upgrading the alumni email system to better serve our alumni, students who graduate in year 2009 (including those who graduated between August 2008 and December 2008) will temporarily be unable to sign up for an alumni email account. The alumni email accounts will be given to these students after the system upgrade. More information will be posted in the 4th quarter of 2009 on AlumNET at www.alumnet.nus.edu.sg.

2. Do I still have access to my email account (XXX@nus.edu.sg) upon graduation?
Students graduating in year 2009 (including those who graduated between August 2008 and December 2008) will continue to have access to their student email accounts till the end of the year. Students who are a staff member of NUS will have access to their student email accounts, even if they may also have alumni email accounts.

(Q3) Where do I park if I visit the Shaw Foundation Alumni House?

You may park at Car Park 15 at Temasek Hall. Please click here for parking rates and more information. Internal shuttle bus service A1 and B also stop near the Kent Ridge Guild House, which is next to the Shaw Foundation Alumni House.

(Q5) Where can I find the contact details of NUS overseas Alumni Office?

(Q6) Where can I get NUS Alumni car decal?

You may come to the Alumni House and collect the decal from the receptionist during office hours.

(Q7) How do I apply for the AlumNUS card?

The AlumNUS Card Application form can be found on our Alumni website (https://www.alumni.nus.edu.sg/alumNET/alumnuscard.jsp). Please mail/fax the form in upon filling in your information.
If you have never received the AlumNUS card, this card will be given to you for free. However, if you have lost or misplaced your AlumNUS card and seek a replacement, you will need to pay $5 as a replacement fee.

(Q8) As a NUS Alumnus, can I use the NUS swimming pool?

Yes, as an alumni, you may have complimentary use of the swimming pool but kindly call NUS Staff Club at 6516 2079 or 6516 4716 to make an appointment before proceeding to the pool.

(Q9) As a NUS Alumnus, can I use the NUS gym?

Yes, as an alumni, you may have complimentary use of the gym but kindly call NUS Staff Club at 6516 2079 or 6516 4716 to make an appointment before proceeding to the gym.

(Q10) As a NUS Alumnus, can I access the internet in campus?

Yes, it is possible for alumni to access NUSNET on campus. PC stations will be made available to alumni at the Shaw Foundation Alumni House at a later stage.

(Q11) Does the Shaw Foundation Alumni House provide computer facilities?

Yes. However, as we have recently moved into the Shaw Foundation Alumni House, computer facilities will be available at a later stage.

(Q12) As a NUS Alumnus, can I access the NUS library?

Membership of the NUS Library is open to alumni at an annual subscription fee of $100 plus a one-time registration fee of $30 with proof through your Alumnus Card. Please visit this url: https://www.alumni.nus.edu.sg/alumNET/alumnuscard.jsp for more details

(Q13) How do I apply for membership to NUS Guild House?

(Q14) How do I update my address/particulars?

Kindly write in to us at oarconnect@nus.edu.sg with all of the following particulars:
NRIC
Full Name (as stated in NRIC)
Date of Birth

If you have recently acquired your Singapore citizenship, your identification number in our system may still be your former passport number or identification number. If you wish to update your Singapore NRIC No, please furnish with a copy of your passport or identification and a copy of your NRIC via mail, fax or email. We seek your kind cooperation in providing us with the complete details as stated above to facilitate the processing of your change in particulars. Personal details will be handled in strictest confidence. Thank you very much.

Q15. How do I enable auto-forwarding in my AlumMAIL account?
To enable auto-forwarding in your AlumMAIL account, please follow the steps below:
a. Click on this url: https://exchange.nus.edu.sg/autoforward
b. When prompted for login, type <your userid>@alumni.nus.edu.sg and your AlumNET password to logon.
c. Follow the online instruction to redirect your email and click Save

Q16. How do I disable auto-forwarding in my AlumMAIL account?
To disable auto-forwarding in your AlumMAIL account, please follow the steps below:

b. When prompted for login, type <your userid>@alumni.nus.edu.sg and your AlumNET password to logon
c. Follow the online instruction to disable your email redirection and click Save

Q17. What are the various ways to access AlumMAIL?
You can access AlumMAIL via the following ways:

Incoming mail server: pop.alumni.nus.edu.sg
Outgoing mail server: your own ISP's SMTP server (e.g. mail.singnet.com.sg, smtp.pacific.net.sg, smtp.starhub.net.sg, etc)

Q18. What is the biggest sized email I can receive/send using the AlumMAIL?
The biggest sized email you can send/receive using AlumMAIL is 10MB.

Q19. Does the AlumMAIL come with anti-virus feature?
Yes, all emails sent/received via the AlumMAIL are scanned by the NUS anti-virus system.

Q20. Does the AlumMAIL come with anti-spamming feature?
Yes, all emails sent/received via the AlumMAIL are scanned by the NUS anti-spamming system.

Q21. Can AlumMAIL support chinese characters?
Yes, AlumMAIL does support chinese characters.

Q22. How can I access my alumni email account?
After logging into AlumNET, click on the AlumMAIL link to access your alumni email account.

Q23. How to update my personal profile (e.g: Mailing address, Password Reminder Question and Answer, etc.)?
After logging into AlumNET, click on the Update Your Profile link to access your personal particulars.

Q24. How to change my username?
After logging into AlumNET, click on the Change Username link to change your AlumNET/AlumMAIL password. (Note: Once the username is changed in AlumNET, it will automatically update the username for your email account. However, this synchronization process of username updates needs 30 minutes.)

Q25. How to change my password?
After logging into AlumNET, click on the Change Password link to change your AlumNET/AlumMAIL password. (Note: Once the username is changed in AlumNET, it will automatically update the username for your email account. However, this synchronization process of username updates needs 30 minutes.)

Q26. How to reset my password if I have forgotten my password ?
1) Go to the url: https://www.alumni.nus.edu.sg/alumNET/index.jsp.
2) At the e-Community Login, click on the Forget Password? link.
3) In the Username field, enter your AlumNET user id (e.g. johntan) and click on the Submit button.
4) In the Answer field, enter your answer to the reminder question (e.g: abc) and click on the Submit button.
5) Once you have answered the question correctly, your password will be reset and emailed to your alternate email address that is kept in the database.

Q27. If I’m a recent graduate, how do I login to my alumni email account?
1) Go to the url: https://www.alumni.nus.edu.sg/alumNET/index.jsp.
2) At the e-Community Login,
    a. User ID field, enter in your student email account user id (e.g: u0123456), or if you have a friendly email alias, enter in         the alias (e.g: johntan).
    b. Password field, enter in your student email account password.
3) Click on the Login button.
